Snipe's Lake is a stunning newly opened 8 acre Carp lake designed for the more experienced Carp angler with the chance of landing some huge Carp to 38lb. We welcome you to one of the North West’s most exciting big fish venues. Our 8 acre lake holds around 100 Carp, carefully stocked to ensure a natural, low pressure environment - never overcrowded and always enjoyable.
With over 40 fish topping the magical 30lb mark and several pushing well into the 40s, this is a water where every take counts - you may even strike golden with the one resident Catfish that is well over 60lb's. The rest of the stock are solid, hard fighting 20's, giving you consistent action with genuine specimen potential.
To keep the lake peaceful and fair for everyone, we have just 7 spacious pegs. That means plenty of water to go at, no fishing on top of each other, and a proper chance to work your swim without pressure from neighbouring anglers.
If you’re looking for a well run, low stocked, big fish water with room to breathe and real potential for a new PB, Pheasants Wood is the place to be.

Depths on the lake go from around 3ft in the margins to a maximum of 7ft in deeper areas giving you the chance to explore various tactics around the lake. As you can see from the contour map below, there are a generous amount of features on every single peg including islands, drop off's and shallower bars where you can target your efforts.
Fish Care
Here at Pheasant's Wood Fishery we pride ourselves on ensuring our entire stock are in good health and fighting fit.
Our fish care policy covers all anglers and we request that any fish caught, large or small is looked after with respect and in the correct manner.
A minimum net size of 42” is required, with a well-padded unhooking mat or cradle being essential.
Carp care kits to treat hook holds and/or damage to the fish must be used.
Sacking of fish is allowed whilst camera equipment is set up or to give you time to get a bailiff to verify weight. Please do not sack fish for longer than 15 minutes.
Rig checks are regularly done, please do not be offended if you are asked for a rig check, alternatively, call the bailiff who will be happy to check before your first cast.
If at any point bad or damaging practices are observed we will of course give you advice on better rigs, handling etc., however, if bad practices continue we may have no option but to ask you to leave the water.
